Fresno in October, 2010
Dear Prayer Friends,
Dear friends, we thank you for praying and supporting our family as we serve in mission training.
Here are some examples of what God is doing: at Fresno School of Mission He has sent us 30 students during the fall quarter. A great story is about a couple that we will call Joseph and Mary. Last year, Mary signed up for a course at Fresno School of Mission and the Lord transformed her relationship with her husband. Excited, he decided to contact the teacher to know more about what had changed his wife. He found that Jesus Christ was the reason for the change. The teacher asked him where he stood vis-à-vis Christ and Joseph acknowledged his need of the Savior. Our colleague led him to Christ. As a result, Joseph has become a student at the school and a Bible study, which is influencing the whole family, has started at their house. Please pray for their spiritual growth and baptism.
Florante, a graduate from our school, led an October mission trip to the Philippines. We are looking forward to hearing his report.
Regarding local outreach, Fresno School of Mission is planning to feed one hundred families at Thanksgiving. This effort will be done in collaboration with four local churches. We thank God for this work of compassion.
A mission trip to Haiti will take place in November. Nzash will participate and the school will come alongside Family Community Church to bring words of comfort to our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Recent outbreak of cholera has killed several hundreds of people. Let’s pray for clean water and improvement of sanitation.
In October a group of pastors from Arizona and California met for a spiritual retreat. They were meditating on the divine call and its challenges in American local churches. Nzash was invited to speak about the call of Jonah and his struggle to face worldly powers.
Since this summer, Nzash has been struggling physically with acute attacks of gout and fatigue. With the help of God he is doing better. Pray for total healing and restoration.
Dieudonné, a graduate of Missiological University Center (Kinshasa, Congo), has been reaching out to fishermen and farmers. He is using an audio device called “Proclaimer” to allow local people hear the reading of the New Testament in Lingala. He thanks God for breakthroughs. See pictures of Dieudonné on our web.
An urgent need right now is registering the Kinshasa campus with the local government. If you are interested to contribute to this end, please contact us. All contributions can be made to Lumeya International Ministry which is a tax exempt non-profit organization.
In His Fellowship,
Nzash U Lumeya
